  • Emerald was incorporated in 2003 in Calgary, Canada. Afterward, from 2007 to 2015, Emerald Petroleum Ltd, acting as a holding company, co-founded 4 other oil companies with prominent oil men from Calgary and Dubai.
  • Madison PetroGas Ltd in 2007, now amalgamated into SDX Energy Ltd, with operations in Egypt
  • Allied Petroleum Exploration Inc (APEX) in 2011, with main operations in Oman (Block 36).

  • Currently, with our associate Fire Creek Belize Ltd, Emerald operate a concession with a marginal oil field in Belize, close to the Mexican southeast border. The oil discovery STOIP is estimated to 24-millions barrels (2P) in Cretaceous carbonates and delineated by 4 wells. The deeper Jurassic target has estimated potential resources exceeding 300 million barrels in-place.
  • In the last 10 years, Emerald was more involved in unconventional plays, principally tight oil/gas plays, starting from their identification, then to mapping the play fairway with more emphasis on sweet pots within the fairway. We were involved in projects in SE Saskatchewan (Canada), North-Dakota, Permian basin (USA), Paris Basin (France), Rub al Khali Basin (Oman), and NE Algeria.
  • For better efficiency, Emerald Resources invested time, and money in the development of three software, powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning (attached proprietary software for the exploration of unconventional plays are:
  • Identification of Source Rocks from Logs - determination of TOC and thickness from logs using the ΔlogR technique and the GR/Rt technique (after calibration with lab data
  • Identification of Tight Oil Plays - Gas chromatography analysis of mudgas while drilling assists the identification of pay-zones in conventional reservoirs and (unconventional) tight plays. It does give a strong indication of the maturity stage the source rock
  • Resources/Reserves Assessment of unconventional reservoirs -shale/tight oil or shale/tight gas- (retained within the source rock or contained in tight plays). Our petroleum systems analysists integrate all the data and information obtained from other geoscience disciplines into one single but multidisciplinary approach after a series of modeling of various parameters - see our Workflow.

Field development

  • We are partnered with experts who not only have the engineering knowledge, but also bring challenges and lessons learned from field operations.
  • Field development and engineering services such as enhanced oil recoveries (EOR) of any kind, and drilling/completion can be successfully executed by our specialized technical team in association with our associates in Norway, London, or Houston.
  • Field development and EOR of any kind can be executed by our associates Sarepta Oil and MineaOil.
  • Drilling/completion, horizontal multi-stages fraccing can be executed by our associate Fire Creek Resources (www.fcrl.ca )

WATERFLOOD, EOR & IOR INTERVENTIONS

  • Our consultants and associates have fulfilled several IOR/EOR studies and projects for tight and challenging reservoirs in Middle East, SE Asia, Canada, and other places around the world, which included water flooding, CO2 and solvent injection, cyclic steam injection, smart gel, and SAGD process.
  • They used material balance, analogue field studies, decline analysis, conformance plots, analytical correlations, and models. This is no surprise for Canadian oil patch since almost all conventional fields in Canada are mature or exhausted and though time needed all kind of recoveries to keep them active

Previously owned Exploration Oil Companies

  • Madison PetroGas Ltd. – Dr Madi co-founded the company in 2005 and acted as VP Exploration for several years. Madison made two oil discoveries in Egypt (averaged 6,000 bbls/day during 2013-2015) and drilled one exploration well in Cameroon. On October 2015, Madison was amalgamated with Sea Dragon Energy to form SDX Energy.
  • Allied Petroleum Exploration Inc. (“APEX”). Dr Madi founded the company in 2010 and acted as President until its dissolution. APEX was a private Canadian petroleum exploration and production company with main operations in Block 36, in the Sultana of Oman, which has been acquired in mid-2020 by an American giant EOG Resources Limited.
